FastFins have two principal aims. First, to continue promoting swimming as a positive, life-long fitness activity for all ages. Secondly, to continue to build, and maintain, a reputation for excellence in swimming tuition.
We run an organised, responsive and efficient teaching operation where
the accent is placed firmly on quality. FastFins distinguishes itself from other swimming schools by placing
the emphasis on technique rather than distance. Moreover,
we adopt an
interactive approach to teaching; our instructors teach from the
water.
Because levels of confidence, physical strength and ability often vary greatly among students, FastFins provide tuition in small groups only in a relaxed environment. This ensures that pupils enjoy an individual teaching programme, enabling their true potential to be realised faster. The progress of each pupil is carefully monitored and recorded through our regular progress appraisal system; and achievement is recognised through the award of FastFins' badges and certificates.
The sequence of activities and bio-mechanical exercises has been carefully formulated to improve co-ordination skills, stamina and swimming style. Strokes are broken down into their respective movements. Exercises are practised until students are able to combine all the different elements to perform the stroke correctly. In time, all learn how to become confident, graceful swimmers, while improving their general fitness levels, posture, breathing and muscle tone.
FastFins run courses on both a termly basis and during the school holidays. All our instructors are fully qualified, holding an ASA/STA teacher's certificate or international equivalent.
