Alex
Swim Coach
Alex is a former champion swimmer and was a member of the Romanian National Junior and Senior Swimming Teams and represented his country as part of the Olympic Swimming Team from 1990 – 1996. Alex was multiple national champion in 50m and 100m freestyle and Balkans champion in 50m freestyle. He attended the 1995 World Swimming Championships in Rio de Janeiro and the 1996 Summer Olympics Games in Atlanta, Georgia. Alex was bronze medal winner in the 4x100m men's freestyle race during the 1995 FINA World Short-Course Championship in Rio and took 10th place for Romania in the 4x100m freestyle relay team at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. Previously, he was employed as a swimming coach at the Competition Sports Club in Ploiesti, Romania where he coordinated and coached junior and senior training and many of his former swimmers subsequently went on to become national junior and senior champions.
Qualifications:
First class category swimmer: 50m & 100m freestyle
ASA Level 2 in Teaching Aquatics
BSc Travel & Tourism, Clemson University, S Carolina, USA (Sport Scholarship)
