Learn to Swim: Little Fins levels I - IV

Lower Level I
Fun and engaging introduction to the properties of water, key safety skills, confidence-building, submergence, floating, propulsion, breathing control. Teaching delivered through structured play without arm-bands.
Level I
Establishing the core principle of the optimum swimming body position, balance and co-ordination in front-crawl, back-stroke and breast-stroke initially with focus on leg kicks and basic breathing.
Level II
Continued focus on the core principle of the optimum swimming body position, balance and co-ordination in front-crawl and back-stroke with focus on arm movements to combine with both kicking and bilateral breathing to perform unassisted swimming over 10m.
Level III
Pupils repeatedly demonstrate front-crawl and back-stroke with established body position with timing in each stroke in deep water over 15m; introduction of breast-stroke arms to combine with kicking; focus on the basic bio-mechanics of all three strokes, plus diving.
Level IV
Advanced drills and bio-mechanics in front-crawl, back-stroke (body rotation) and breast-stroke to improve stroke efficiency and stamina over 20m; introduction of the butterfly kick and tumble-turns, plus continued diving practice.

Swim Training: Little Fins Levels V - VII

Level V
Principal focus is on the retention of technique competence in back-stroke, front-crawl and breast-stroke over longer distances, plus speed and stamina swimming and learning the full butterfly stroke.
Level VI
Principal focus is on the retention of technique competence in back-stroke, front-crawl and breast-stroke over longer distances, plus speed and stamina swimming and learning the full butterfly stroke.
Level VII
Further attention to the fine-tuning in all four strokes, style and optimum, streamlined body position to demonstrate swimming excellence and athletic prowess, plus introduction to – and on-going development of – the principal facets of professional swimming.
Holiday Intensive Courses
Make a flying start to the holidays with a FastFins® intensive swimming course. Our 1:1 and 2:1 courses are an ideal way to correct and improve swimming technique, increase stamina and practice newly-acquired skills. FastFins® intensive courses run every half-term and throughout the school holidays.

FastFins® summer intensive course programme starts on Mon 11 July 2016 at Ethos, Sport Imperial.
